Top Ten Tips from a  Poker Coach

1.    Play your game

If you don’t know what that is -- Find Out!

 2.    Practice

Get a poker buddy.  Talk about hands. Experiment with ideas and concepts.

Play every chance you get.

3.    Take Notes

During and after, take notes on your sessions.  Before sessions review notes.

4.    Psyche yourself up to compete.

Poker is a competition.  Get your head in the game.

5.    Educate yourself

Read books written by authors that  play a game that seems comfortable to you.

 6.    Visualize  Situations

Replay hands in your head and take note on ways you could have improved your play in the same situation.

7.    Focus!

8.    Don’t get stressed.

Stay calm and “flow.”  The minute you stress, you are not thinking clearly.  No matter how much money is on the table think of them as just chips.

 9.    Know the Odds!

Knowing the odds is a critical part of the game.  What is your chance of making your flush with two cards to come?  Or a straight?  Or a boat, when you triple up?  Don’t know?  Find out.

 10. Think about what your opponent is holding.

Really think about it.
