Top 10 Tips for Playing Against the Boys

1.  Be Nice
If you are nice, they might just be nice right back and give you a free card or two.

2.  No Fear
I mean really! What are you afraid of? They’re just boys.

3.  No Tells
Men don’t rely on their intuition as much. Instead, they look for tells.

4.  Calling Might Be The Best Move.
If a boy goes all in against you, don’t automatically throw your hand away.  You might just make a great call and win.  Boys push all-in much quicker than the girls.

5.  Re-Raise.
If you get raised when holding a marginal hand while heads up, consider a small re-raise.  If they are bluffing, re-raising is the best way to find out where you are without risking a lot of chips.

6.  What Do They Want?
After every opponent’s action, ask yourself what is it they want you to do?  That simple question can give you the perspective you need to make the right decision.

7.  Dress Comfortably.
Don’t dress to impress. Boys may think you are trying too hard.

8.  Occasionally Show a Bluff.
You’ll get called more and the boys will fear you a bit.

9.  Check Raise.
Pick a good spot with a solid hand and check raise it.  Just once is fine.  It will get their attention and they won’t try to bet you out of a pot as often.

10.  Go For the Juggler.
Men will take advantage of any situation -- any free card, any missed bet -- and try to take you out of the game.  Take them out first. And have fun - you'll play better and win more hands.
